Draft for review. This reflects Anew's current build (no advertising or analytics trackers). If you later add analytics or marketing pixels, you must add a consent banner and update this notice. Official Dutch and French versions to follow.

Cookie & storage notice

Last updated: 2 July 2026 · Version 0.1 (draft)

This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) that Anew uses, in line with the ePrivacy rules and the GDPR.

Short version: Anew uses only strictly necessary storage to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising, profiling or third-party tracking cookies, so no consent banner is required for these. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first.

What we store on your device

Name / typePurposeDuration
Authentication token (local storage, set by our auth provider)Keeps you signed in securely between visitsUntil logout / expiry
anew_lang (local storage)Remembers your language (EN/NL/FR)Persistent until cleared
anew_hide_pro (local storage)Remembers your "private sellers only" filter choicePersistent until cleared
Session / security cookiesKeep the app working and protect against abuseSession

These are essential to provide a service you have requested, so they do not require prior consent under the ePrivacy rules. We do not sell or share this information for advertising.

Third-party services

Some features call third-party services to work — for example map tiles and geocoding (OpenStreetMap/Nominatim) and on-demand translation. These process only what is needed for the feature and are described in our Privacy Policy.

Managing storage

You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time; note that doing so will sign you out and reset your preferences.

If we add analytics or marketing later

Should we introduce non-essential cookies (analytics, marketing pixels, A/B testing), we will present a consent banner allowing you to accept or reject them before they are set, and list them here.
